![]() This is driving me crazy since the only workaround has been disconnecting the power cable from the laptop until it is time to charge again and the filckering starts so I have to disconnect my monitor(s) and work with the laptop's monitor only until it is fully charged and then connect the external monitor(s) again and disconnect the power cable. I also reinstalled Windows 10 and the problem is still there. I downgraded the BIOS from version 1.18.0 to some other older versions (didn't record which ones exactly), but the problem perssists. It is curious that the flickering usually starts when launching a new program and it becomes less frequent when I disconnect the power cable from my laptop, but still happens from time to time after doing that. You can find the screen refresh rate in display properties -> 'Settings'tab -> Click on the 'Advanced' button -> Click on 'Monitor' tab -> Now try another 'Screen refresh rate'. I thought it was the USB C Hub, but I replaced it with a new one and the problem perssists, furthermore, the problem also happens if I connect one external monitor directly to the HDMI in my laptop. 2) Check your screen resolution and also the screen refresh rate. ![]() Now when if I have my two monitors connected and the power cable on the laptop, it flickers very frequently. It is very simple step, you only need to find the best resolution to suit your second screen or monitor. I have been using a USB C hub to which I have attached two Dell P2419H monitors vía HDMI.Įverything had worked fine until some months ago when some intermitent and no so frequent flickering started happening. Today I'm going show you how to fix a flickering second or extended screen. I'm having this same problem with my Inspiron 7591 2-in-1 Black Edition. Obviously there has been some big bug in the BIOS for 9570 for quite some time already, and Dell is still not solving this problem. The display setup is set to multiply displays with the external being set as a secondary. When I try to connect my to my external monitor the screen flickers between black and no signal. The solution (according to that post) is to go down to some really old BIOS version. External monitor connected via HDMI keeps flickering from black to No Signal. This has been an issue for already quite some time, and there are few more posts about it. It doesn't happen if the external monitor is the only monitor (internal display is off), and it only happens when both displays are 4k, not when one of them is set to a lower resolution. It usually happens when after the boot or wake up from sleep/hibernate, but it can also happen when some apps are launched. That's not the whole problem because after that it often happens that some devices like audio don't work at all until the laptop is restarted. The external display flickers and then goes gray for a minute, while the whole laptop is almost frozen, with System process consuming almost 100% of CPU. Is your external monitor 4k? I have the same issue with my external 4k monitor when the internal display on my 9570 is on as well. 1) Try disabling monitors 2 and 3 in display settings while still connected, so only your laptop screen is used > Multiple Monitors: 'Show only on 1', then try adding the others again through 'Extend.' < Toggling directly between Extend and Duplicate has always caused me problems.
